APEXI AVCR fitted but have got weird clicking sound?????
Hi
Just fitted the above yesterday. Its has been temporally set to 0.6 bar at the moment as its not set up yet as the car is getting remapped in Jan.
Once the turbo gets to about between 0.4-0.6 bar the AVCR solenoid starts clicking quite loud (have not taken it over 0.6 bar). Need to know if this clicking sound will be on all the time once some boost is built up or whether because it has been set to 0.6 bar temporally that's why its clicking between 0.4 - 0.6??
The clicking sound is really annoying!!
Thanks in advance.

Does it sound like a demented woodpecker under the bonnet?
If so, thats the solenoid and it's working exactly as it should and trying to build boost as quickly as possible. The avcr comes with a rubber mounting pad to try and keep the noise down but you can still hear it.
The only propper fix is a bastid loud exhaust.

Thanks for the reply.
I havnt put on the rubber mount so will try and see if it will reduce it. So this clicking sound will happen from 0.3 to say about 1.5 bar (car will be mapped to this amount).
I thought that because the AVCR was temporaily set to 0.6 bar thats why it was clicking at such low boost. I was hoping it would only start clicking when near max boost.
I have a full decat 3 inch blitz exhahust system and I can still hear it !!!

The solenoid fires when the avcr is bleeding pressure away from the actuator in an attempt to bring the car to it's target boost as quickly as possible. So theoretically you could have it anywhere depending on the conditions.
Re the 3 port, that will have been replaced with the avcr supplied one.
