Default 740cc Injector connector problem - help!

Hi,

I brought a set of 720cc injectors some time ago and finally got round to fitting them to my P1.

They connect to the fuel system just fine and fit OK, but the power connection is different - the two pins are offset to the otherside of the socket and the clip is different!

Can I buy the correct plugs from anywhere? Has anyone else had this problem?

depending which 740cc injectors you might find if you put the plug on upside down it will work fine.. or you need to trim the end of the plastic on the injector to allow the connector to go further onto the injector..

or indeed you need to buy the correct plugs but without knowing whcih injectors you have difficult to advise further.

Hi, they are HKS injectors.

Apparently made by 'JECS'.

HKS/Nismo 720/jecs a46-z00 - 880u/720cc

Any idea where I get the right plugs / clips (as per the picture above)? Apparently you just pull the pins out and put into the new clips.

You don't need the right ones, trim 3mm off the end of the injector connector, move the pins up to line up with the oe connector offset, trim off the sid bars from the injector, the std connectors will then fit and lock on, make sure you reform the pins correctly.

(As Simon says)

cheers

Thanks Bob.

Was just about to give up and buy a set of 850 ones.

If you have time, your view on the Turbo question I am about to post would be appreciated.

I presume this is what you are currently looking at??
Compared with a Standard 440cc Impreza injector. This shows you what Bob is talking about.
