Default 20g vs rollerbearing vf34?

Am upgrading to 20g turbo and 650 injectors in the new year but i am concerned that everyone keeps telling me that it will be too laggy! Paul at Zen is doing the work but i sort of put the thought in his head thats what i wanted, always keen to hear of other peoples experiences (proof in the pudding so to speak) someone else suggested a rollerbearing vf43? and smaller injectors with fpr. Car so far is running about 320-340bhp but i want to get nearer 400, my mods already without being boring listing them will support 400. Any suggestions/experiences welcomed

it will be laggier but if you want 400 BHP on a 2.0 litre then it will be.

may be worth considering an MD321 from Lateral Performance as well.

I have a 20g with several well chosen mods to compliment it.
Fab engine. (Sti v3)
Two RR's with 407 @ Well Lane which i don't trust, and 380 at Powerstation that I do!
Here's a taste of 20g overwhelming the well sorted chassis:
DropShots Day
Paul understands my car though has never seen it.

I got 385bhp at Tegsport (Steve Simpson) with a 20G and, of course, supporting mods I have 550cc injectors and they are operating at 91% duty. The car pulls like a train (340lbft) and drives very well except on the motorway where the compressor surge is a pain in the ***, making the whole car shudder when feathering the throttle - I'll leave it to others much more competent than me to explain that but basically, I understand that the turbo is slightly too big for a 2 litre. Also, max power is made at 7000 rpm (which is the rev limit) which supports the 'too big' bit - it really needs the extra revs of an Sti to make the most of it. I'm still very happy with it, though, but if I was doing it again I'd go for an 18G to get rid of the surge. Hope this helps

I don't think it will be laggier much laggier than your current setup given the cams.

No surge, no side effects other than fuel consumption when really using it, about 10 mpg...

From what i understand from various tuners and SN members the 20g MAY get you 400bhp however if you are primarily driving the car on the road than an 18g may be a better option. The general opinion is that the 18g will give you better mid range and on the road is probably the better option, however if the car will be used on the track or will adopt a higher rev limit the 20g is the better option.

Thanks for all the advice chaps i will keep with the origanal plan 20g and 650's as it will only be used on the road backwards and forward to events, the rest will be on track/1/4 mile, 911 seems to do well with his and if Paul knew of a better option he would have told me so thanks
