Default Fluttering on Boost

Hi All

I have a UK MY00, with a Decat as the only mod.

I had it for 3 years but recently when I am accelarating it seems to 'flutter' when on boost - rather than a smooth acceleration. It's better when on full throttle than part throttle.

I have the original MAF, do you think this might need changing?

Cheers

Hi

Yes it seem build up. It's almost like the Turbo is very momentarily (fractions of a second) having it's boost cut, and it make the car slightly judder.

No boost gauge on my car. How did you fix yours?

Cheers

Hi Chris

It's all the time . It's not really bad yet but I want to nip it in the bud.

Hi lunar,

do you think this will be less noticable with a dawes device controlling boost?

well i cleaned my boost solenoid which seemed to help but its mainly caused by the de-cat. go for the cleaning first if its still there you need a re-map to sort it properly

Not sure Nicky. I currently have this problem on my MY03 STI and I have been assured that it can be cured or at least much improved with some mapping

Hmmm guess i'll have to live with it then. Having a phase 1.5 ecu puts a re-map out of the question....
