Default Whirring/ticking noise??

Out and about today in my new baby, after a while i noticed a sort of ticking/whirring noise from near the dash area, cant put my finger on it precisely but it increases and decreases according to road speed. As my WRX is an import is it possibly speedo related?.Someone please help as i am now bloody paranoid.

lift your bonnet and slightly rev your engine and you will hear the clicking on the drivers side strut.

It does it though when going downhill with no load on the engine, although it still increases in speed with the road speed as i go down hill??.This is really annoying me now, probably nothing wrong just a bit annoying.Another idea i had(i may b wrong) could it be speedo related due to KMH to MPH conversion?

Bob the badgers right. It will be the boost solenoid and this is completely normal. Lift the bonnet and on the offside strut you will see a small black box near to the air filter. Put your fingers on it and rev the engine slightly you will feel the clicking. The solenoid is connected to the car by rubber mountings. If these go hard over time the click/vibration is not dispersed in the rubber and goes into the car. Did it on mine.
