Default Code 45

anyone got any ideas?????

'93 wrx

been getting code 45, and what feels like fuel/ignition cut at full load/boost! (most of time, but not always)

I've cleaned out boost solenoid - not that

I've changed map sensor - not that

whats the other electrical device on the back of boost solenoid? can this cause symptoms and code 45?????

cheers guys
Mark.

Yes, the cylidrical thing mounted on top of the boost solenoid is the thing that would cause the code 45 (atmospheric pressure valve, or something). It is connected to the MAP sensor. I think it tells the MAP sensor what the current atmospheric pressure is.

I took off both pipes and the bung looking thing and sprayed brake cleaner through to clean it. You may want to try this?

Have you tried changing the black cylindrical thingy with the brown connector end. That's what I would do?

The thing behind the whole unit is the ignitor for the coils etc. I doubt this is causing you the problem. The fuel cut your experiencing is more than likely limp mode.

Double check the hoses that lead to the map sensor, boost soleniod, etc.
Any leaks would cause the same code.

It would be best to see the fitting instructions for the old apexi afc to see if its wired into the map/boost sensor wires. I dont think it is but worth a shot.
