Default Cleaning boost control solenoid

I know this has been done loads before on the standard one, but i have a different solenoid as it came with my boost controller, the thing is with the standard one i believe joining the plugs under steering wheel (reset procedure) gets the standard one opening and shutting, but does anyone know a way of getting my aftermarket one to?

I have an Apexi boost control solenoid fitted to go with my PFC. Can I simply connect 12V (or a voltage if lower than 12) across is to open it then spray carb cleaner through it to clean it?

Not sure. I occasionally have an issue on partial throttle where the boost is quite erratic rather than gradually building or staying constant. WOT is fine although it will sometimes boost slightly higher one time then slightly less another.

sounds more like possible dump valve problem.. what dump valve do you run?

It's a Turbosmart adjustable one. Could it be worth adjusting it to the harder spring setting?

Try the original or run it with the dump valve removed (block the hole) to check it is the problem.

To be honest I would rather run without one at all but as I have a FMIC I can't run the standard one (as far as I know). I am guessing it wouldn't be a good idea to remove the dump valve permanently?

It is a TD05 running 1.4 bar. Could I loose the valve safely then and would it have any impact on the map I have as it was mapped with the DV in place?

no problems when I had a Td05 with no dump valve on my own car for 80k miles and many other people don't use a dump valve with a td05..

As long as the dump valve wasn't leaking when it was mapped then no it won't effect the map.

you are lucky so far then.. the VF's are not strong enough to run with no dumpvalve.. how much boost are you running?

Back to my original question. Can anyone confirm what voltage the Apexi boost solenoid runs at so I can connect power straight to it and clean it.
