does it hesitate and then pull, then hesitate etc? mine has just started doing the same thing , its a MY99uk, i have been told that perhaps cleaning the boost solanoid solves the problem?

Has anyone got a picture or could knock one together that identifies both the MAF and the Boost solenoid on a MY99?

Ive been meaning to find out where they actually are so i could try to clean them up myself. The car runs fine ( a bit hessitant at 3k thats all ) but thought it wouldnt hurt to clean them.

What can you use? Do you need to spray them with something special?

Thanks

Adam

Boost solenoid is on the drivers side mounted between the airbox and suspension turret. Has a plastic cover over it with a couple of twist locks on. Turn them a quarter turn and it comes to reveal the solenoid. 2 wires and 2 pipes. You need to clean it with brake cleaner, remove it from the bracket and disconnect pipes, connect green test mode connectors under dash together and turn on ignition. Solenoid will start clicking, squirt brake cleaner in both ports and oily residue should come out. Also squirt some cleaner down the pipework. Use a rag to soak up excess etc, careful not to get brake cleaner on your paintwork. Once cleaned put it all back together and disconnect the test connectors before starting the engine again.

MAF will be in the top of the airbox or thereabouts. I don't think cleaning will do much good. On that model year it is probably best to just buy a new one, for £70ish it's worth just swapping for peace of mind.

Thats great, thanks mate.

I'll get some cleaner and try this at the weekend.

Much appreciated.
