Default Dirty MAF

My car has been running badly recently, and thought i'd check my MAF sensor.

The inside of if is covered in c**p, really greasy and dirty.

I assume this would make it run poor? If so what is best to clean it with?

Thanks

Gary

I used brake cleaner on mine some years ago, seemed to help for a while but then it started acting up again and i had to replace in the end

Worth a try

I use carb cleaner on mine, works fine. I spray plenty on it after removal from the car and its suprising how much muck come off. I leave it for a while until dry, refit and then do an ecu reset works very well for me.

I have found though if you do not do the ecu reset it can sometimes muck around for a while. Its easy enough to do so I just do it anyway.

Hope this helps
