ATT: import owners - fuel question
I have just bought a 95 WRX import, that as far as i know has not been remapped to run on uk fuel, my question is how much octane booster are you running? I use Silkolene Octane Booster in my MX bikes but don't know what ratio to run in the car.
Any help greatfully received

my93 on u8 ecu quite often ran on morrisons 95 unleaded with some hard driving with only green on the knocklink.
If you do change your fuel on the earlier cars, then reset the ecu after you have done it as if you use poor fuel the oe knock sensor will knock back the ignition timing therefore losing you some power and Iam sure that it doesnt advance it again like the newer cars.

95 ron WILL kill a wrx import mainly because it just cannot retard it down that low, you may think you see just greens but does your knocklink work fully to the red? and even then when you get knock it can be that quick you dont catch it.... (mainly in gear about 4-5k rpm)
Imports need 97 ron minimum (early cars) and ob is advisable

Personally I would'nt run any performance car on standard unleaded.
After making contact with some friendly people over in Japland and having them do a little research I can confirm that 100RON was'nt available to JDM until the late nineties, prior to this it was rated at 98RON.
For the earlier classic owners (MY94/MY95) Super would probably be fine, with the addition of OB just for a safeguard.
