Although on 03 WRX i have just had this done, and this should be 330-340 for both power and torque, although that is not yet confirmed by rolling road.

As for gearbox, i never launch, nor am i harsh on gear changes so gearbox should be fine. That really does depend on how you treat it TBH.
Cost is expensive, so it all depends on what you want to spend. I bought all new parts so that made it dear for me in that sense, but i am keeping this car for a long while so i wanted new parts.
Also, my car is still on the OE TMIC, so it will be interesting to see what effect this has on the figures when i get to the rolling road one day soon.
Good luck with your choice and enjoy!

A sympathetically mapped car, driven sensibly will likely be fine at the levels you're looking at, but no-one will be able to promise you it won't break; sometimes gearboxes let go at std power.

that dont help me .
if we all thought like that we wouldnt start our cars up in case of major engine failure .
all i want to know is can the wrx gearbox take over 300bhp just in general
if i was thinking of taking it to a drag strip i would think it would blow without fail
but i only want to use the car on the road with no silly starts .
i dont want the lottery numbers just a bit of info .
cheers in advance .

Jees, why dont you ask how long is a piece of string?
How can we answer if YOUR box is gonna blow or not?
I am running 330-340 ish bhp and a few others are running upto and over 380 to 400 bhp on standard boxes.
That is all we can say.
Its your choice. End of!
