Anything I can do to get the CEL to come on?
Im not sure its working properly
Only problems ive had are a new box and clutch
and my car lost alot of oil but I fixed that on sunday.
Never has the CEL light come on
I don't drive it hard everywhere, just every now and then out of town but not to red line... Except for a couple of spirited driving when I bought it (worn off now and respect my licence too much)
Is my driving style just not giving the engine enough abuse for things to brake?
I let it warm up for a few mins before driving above 3k and if ive been boosting will drive 1 mile off boost and let it idle for a few mins!
Im thinking I could be doing with a cambelt change as its on 84k, ive done 8k since Jan but always made sure Fluids are ok and things are maintaind well!
Also my VTA DV is sticking open, I did fix it, but on sat I had it apart to give it a clean as my engine bay was dirty. Now its sticking again.
Any ideas on how I should clean it to prevent from sticking. I only used WD40 last time, should I use a different lube, if so which one?
Thank You

Remove the lower dash panel which is above the foot pedals.
Then try to find 2 black connectors in amongst the wires/loom. There should also be 2 green connectors too. These wires are sort of below the speedo & above the pedals.
Once found connect the 2 black connector plugs together & switch the ignition on (don't start the engine).
You should now have your engine check light flashing on the dash.
