MY00 Scooby starts then stops, windows locking and hazzards won't work.
Hi all, Bought myself a nice scooby but it is going wrong.
The engine just stops - and the electric windows, central locking, hazard lights and the stereo packs up from working.
Then i leave it a few hours and it all works - untill i try to start it. Then it might run for a few seconds and then stop - and again it stops all of the other electrics !! Thought it could be the alarm system - so i had a complete new system installed and it still does it !!
I would appreciate any help anyone could give me on this - My Fiancee is quite handy with tools so will be able to try anything you suggest !!
Is there anything that links all of the above systems together other than the Grounds ??
Please Help Me.
Thanks in advance,
Natalie x x

was the previous alarm completely removed, or just disabled?
def sounds like an elec fault, has it been raining where you are over that past week? has water got in where it shouldn't have?

Yeah have had some rain - not unusual amounts though !! And when we didn't use it it was kept in a heated workshop !! ??
The other alarm was completely taken out. I ran the car and it was fine with no alarm at all in !! But that must have been a coincidence as these symptoms are exactly the same as what prompted me to get the alarm and immobiliser fitted !!! Almost kinda like i can use it 2 days out of 7 !!

Check your fusebox. For all those problems that would be my first port of call. Check they're all fitting snugly and theres no water in there. If theres nothing obvious get the person who fitted the alarm to check their work...bit too much of a coincidence....

This problem is now sorted. For searching purposes ie as i found when i searched most people don't actually put down what solved their problem !!
The main fuse box in the engine compartment - there is a main ignition fuse. This is help in with two studs and nuts. Well one of the studs had broken loose of the plastic fusebox holder. So when you tightened it it was just spinning. So that sorted my problem. Thanks to all those who helped. I'm just glad that it was something simple - and cheap !!
