Default Cambelt change, o.k for DIY or garage job ?

Been quoted about £200 or there abouts from main dealer, is it a ahrd one on these engines, done a few on my old cav etc, is it worth the hassle doing it DIY or should i just let the "pros" do it ?

any special tools, when the belt is bought thats near £70 gone already......

You will need something to compress the belt tensioner vertically (G clamp or vice) Other than that nothing really special required just normal tools etc.

But I have seen a special tool that locks (main dealers workshop) the RH (Inlet & exhaust) pullies. As these are on tension when set up on their alignment position
I suppose it makes it easier to fit the belt.
I have fitted the timing belt twice without any real cam locking tools other than a friend to help.

There is a good fitting guide on the P1 forum (with some pictures)
