ticking noise
hi everyone really enjoy scooby ownership had the car now for over 2 months.
the problem is for a while now when the car in running i can here a ticking noise every now and then from the front of the engine. i have heard people talking about timing belt tensioners. is this a common problem?is it best to replace? do they brake up and make the belt jump? any help would be good.

I had a ticking noise coming from the front of my 93 wrx, took it my local garage and they took the belts and cambelt cover off and found the noise was the cambelt stripping itself because 1 of the rollers was wobbling.
Replaced all the rollers and hydraulic tensioner and belt (obviously) cost about £800.
That though is a worst case scenario i didn't have to replace everything but thought it best to didn't fancy it knackering my engine
