hi, just to let you know. i brought this chip couple of months ago and it made a real difference. however i had my car modified and then had the chip fully remapped. 140038168440. i have met the guy who has actually remaps chips, the remapping is done at PTS tuning in Luton and the chip is made by enduring solutions. not everything on ebay is bad, you just need to research certain things more. please note that the max boost can only be set to 1.1 as this is the limiting factor of your stock ecu. however this can be overcome by having a electronic boost contronic and having the boost cut removed. this is wat i did. i hope that helps.

at last thanks for the replys i knew there were people out there with some experience!
david are these scott t chips a good mod for the type of modifications that i have and the fact im not really looking for over 300bhp.
am i right in thinking these are similar chips to thosed used by scoobyclinic? would the chip im looking at be able to be remapped if needed?
thanks ian

Scotts chips are a good mod and will suit your current mods and the future downpipe upgrade. Any more and you would probably benefit from a remap - not sure how easy that would be (depends on type of chip used, best ask Scott) but even if it isn't possible you would easily be able to sell this on and probably get your money back - depending on what the winning bid is of course!!

If you don't win the auction (I can't see what your bidding for as I can't access ebay at work) then take a look at a company called ESL.
You can find some info about them on here. I took part in a group buy a few months ago for one and since had no problems.

hi scott what kind of bhp/tqe would you expect me to get with the mods i have? car is always serviced and maintained and in the process of uprgrading things like coil packs etc with new items, i believe the car is in good health.
can your chip be remapped at a later date?
would i be able to fit it myself?
thanks ian

It can be upgraded at a later date, but the costs of bespoke mapping start to make an Apexi or Link a better option if you start to dream of figures beyond 320BHP.
You should be able to fit it yourself. Most people do these day, infact I don't think I have fitted one for about 2 years.
Early WRX tend to push out around 270-290BHP depending on cars health and supporting mods. But the torque improvement comes more in line with the BHP figure, so on the road they drive well.
If you also have headers then 290-305BHP has been seen, slightly more for STi 2's
It's difficult to be more specific as alot of it is down to the car in question. They all benefit, but some more then others.

Scooby ecu is an excellent product & is a proven & safe way of nabbing a few more BHP. I've been running mine for 5 yrs & it's been totally trouble free.

Check your engine series letter,
If it is a MY 94 B series engine it is only 240ps, the MY95 C1 series engine went up to 260ps.
Your chassis code is on the plaque on the nearside strut,
MY 94 WRX Saloon - GC8B48D
MY 95 WRX Saloon - GC8C48D
I have bought an ECU chip off Scott Taylor on the past and it worked very well, I would recommend it to anyone.

I had a 94 wagon import, it took the boost up from 0.7 bar to one bar, my mods where only a decat centre pipe and stainless backbox.
The boost came in a little earlier too and I knew I was safe with the lower octane fuel.
