Default I WAS OUTRUN BY A FIESTA-HELP!!!

went from birmingham to croydon last night no probs.on the way back i noticed my 96 seemed to stutter to boost over 0.5 bar its my first turbo so i dont no where to even start to look i was stuck at 80 and a bit more if the speed really creept slow its the same around town now as well.Hence getting blew by a fiesta on the m40.the cars got a apexi filter and a apexi super afc(air fuel controller i think that means)and a zorst.ive only had it 3 weeks so dont no my way around it much.what you think?

I think 0.5bar means the ecu is in limp home mode.

Reset the ECU with the plugs under the dash, check it for any fault codes and see how it runs then.

Yep, your car is in limp mode, so try not to rag it.

Have a read on here, this will tell you all you need to do to read the fault codes.

My money is on the MAF sensor

my previous MY96 turbo - the actuator rod came off the 'penny flap' nxt to turbo - there fore no gasses were directed through turbo.

Refiited the actuator rod with circlip - recovered boost.

Mas speed was 85 mph. Cost £0.25

The plugs might be taped up - so look carefully.... 2 green and 2 black plugs. Took me a while to find mine the first time cos they were covered in black tape.

They are located at the base of teh stearing wheel, you really have tostick your head in a long way to find them, 2 small black connectors and two green ones, they will be taped up if not used before.

DANNYBOY007=found them used the link in #5and#6-sounds like code 23-MAF.i thought i had to plug them into something else for some reason.quite simple when you use a torch.I hope that changing the MAF is enough or do u think the air filter is confusing it?ive heard they do but judging by the dirt on it when i cleaned it they have been together a while so why now?
