Default Favorite Computer/Arcade game Music....

For me has to be outrun !!! oh the memories, getting every available 10p piece from the arcade cashier (pre-change machines)

then luxuriating in the splendour of driving a lavish Ferrari, with a hot bird in the passenger seat (until you rolled it!!!) whilst the Mk1 escort is sitting in the layby outside the arcade.

wedging the right foot down, beyond the limit, and slamming through the gears like a madman...

this brought it all back...

Megablast from Xenon II Megablast - Amiga

Into The Wonderful - Gods - Amiga

Just Another Mission - Carrier Command. Ok, this is bit of a cheat, as it's on a cassette that came with the game (Spectrum version)

Another cop out would be the soundtracks for the GTA games, the first did use original sounds but the latter used popular tracks from the era, or their own concoctions, but they did seem to fit the feel of the game.

I do agree about the music from Outrun though, very refreshing.

Almost all the Bitmap Bros games on the Amiga had a fantastic sound track.
Agree with Outrun and I even had that seperate cassette for Carrier Command (I may even still have it in a draw at my parents house!)

Sadly I can't remember the name of the game but it was back in the days of BBC Micros and most games coming on cassette tape. We used to spend hours meddling to get them to run off floppy disc. One game had a sort of easter egg in it, it played Captain Pugwash when you got it wrong. Brilliant

I still have an Amiga A600, Atari 512ST, and a 1040STE. Much preferred the Atari

Anyway, I can't believe nobody has mentioned Starglider yet, or how about Cannon Fodder "War have never been so much fun..."

Cant remember any amiga game soundtracks though

One other classic, shamelessly ripped from 2001... Strauss' "On The Beautiful Blue Danube" as the title music for Elite (certainly used on the Amiga version for the title screen and also the auto docking sequence. I think Oolite has something similar too)

Now if I said "Turn and Gob" can anyone guess the game? Originally I played it on a XT at 4.77Mhz. It was much more fun on an 8MHz AT but at 20Mhz unplayable. No concept of game speed adjustment, just got faster and faster with CPU speed.
