Brembos on classic
Hi guys,
Am looking into upgrading the useless brakes on my 95 STI type RA.
Will the gold brembos + disks from the newage fit the RA? Am certain the front will be ok but unsure about the rears.
Wheels are not a problem, my 17s will clear them.
Thanking you guys in advance !!

Am confused, someone clarify this......
Does anyone make a kit to do the rear? I don't have the time or equipment to make up the pieces required.
There's pair of re brembos on e**y (item #:180027495796)for sale. Seller tells me distance between centres are; front 160mm, rear 140mm
Will these fit and if so what disks do I use???

Fronts will go straight on.
There's no bracket on the rear to bolt the rears on, as the sliding caliper boltl to the hub backing plate.
Hence you have to make up a bracket to mount between the sliding caliper mounting and the Brembo.
Dyney (s'net member/moderator) does do a bracket for the normal 2-pot rear and WRX 01> 290mm disk. This can be modified to fit the Brembo but it positions the Caliper for the STi 316mm disk.
The problem with the 316mm disk is that you have to sleeve the handbrake drum down to 170mm from 190mm.

actually there is a vendor in the states, that makes the bracket
however it is priced ridicously expensive

Thanks all. Have got a grasp of what to do.
Assuming the drawings in one of your post's, Scott.T are accurate, I'll re-do them on CAD and will get them laser cut on a CNC and powder coated.
The rear sleeve looks pretty straight forward to do now that I understand the different disk/drum size. Any recommendations on material for the sleeve?
Anyone else intereted in these brackets? Can get other sets cut if you need.

I'd be interested in a set of the smaller brackets.
Can you PM me a price.
Use the latest drawings in the post linked above. Although there isn't much difference. Just a few more dimensions and an easier shape to machine.
The larger bracket was based on Rentonones Template, which he has used and fitted succesfully. The smaller brackt is the same but brings the caliper in 13mm for the smaller disk. I have made a wooden version of this and done a tiral fit.
You will also need a pair of spacers (instead of using a pile of M10 washers) to mount the caliper bracket on the rear of the backing plate and then another pair to set the caliper position.
These are the sizes I came up with when I used my wooden template and a pile of washers :
20mm Diameter, 10.5mm bore, 12mm length – 4-Off
18mm Diameter, 10.5mm bore, 10mm length – 4-Off

Yippee!!!
Just bought a set of calipers, pads and disks. Will put the front on this weekend.
Still to transfer the sketches to CAD, will do that too and get some prices.
Anyone else want these brackets?

They are a very nice bracket and very well designed. Just a shame you can't see them when fitted. The price reflects the design though, as I think they are about £160.

He's working on getting STi brembos on the rear of a classic - his words, not mine. Which is why I said speak to him, as he's probably 10 steps ahead of you in terms of getting it right.
