Default Stuttering/bogging down

Hi,

Just recently ive noticed my car seems to be stuttering/bogging down when at around 2-3k rpm and just either cruising along or accelerating gradually. Under full load it pulls fine, its just when crusing say at 3krpm on the motorway or accelarting gradually.

After a few seconds it sort of clears itself and starts to run as normal, its very strange,

Anybody got any ideas as to what it may be?

thanks

Trev

p.s Its a MY98 WRX RA

there seems to be quite a few postings like this lately. I myself am suffering from this problem, in fact my car has been in the garage a couple of times to try and sort it out, with no luck. It may just be coincidence but just before this problem started I changed from Optimax to V-Power. Anybody else got this fault and have recently changed petrols ? How about you, Trevisbest ? My car is Sti version V 1999.

I have a similar problem , since changing from optimax to v-power, car ain't been to well. CEL light flickers on and off when i start up, but goes out after a minute of driving and car runs good.
Started the car up yesterday it died then tried it again, and idle was all over the place car cut out. Tried again car seemed a little lumpy but managed to get it going, cars a 94wrx, with full decat and dv.

I'm sure it's something to do with the new fuel!!

What you describe is like a weak AFR for whatever reason. It would be worth getting a wideband lambda up the tail pipe to see what your AFRs are at the problem area.
I would think that would be a starting point.
