Default maximum boost?

Just fitted a boost gauge to my 95 impreza wrx (jap). Getting a boost of 0.7bar out of it at the moment and was just wondering whats the safe maximum boost you can set the car up for?

Also what boost level is the factory ecu mapped to?

without something like a fuel cut defender there's only so much boost the car can take before fuel cut out anyway, i think close to 1bar. hope that helps

Stock boost should be 0.9 bar... Any less and it's best to find out the cause before you start increasing the boost by other means. It's possible you have a leak.

well before the boost gauge was put on. the pipe that you need to connect to the boost gauge and the manifold, well there was already one on there. It was connected to the manifold but led to noithing as there wasnt a boost gauge on before so dont know

so if 0.9bar is the stock what is the max?

You can only turn the boost up till it hits the fuel cut. But you need alter the fueling etc you can't just screw the boost up to much. I run at 1.4 bar using AVC-R and Apexi ecu.

the TD05 turbo fitted as standard to your car will run 1.4bar max but you might be better off fitting a apexi power fc ecu to make sure your fuelling and ignition are correct then start upping the boost. bleed valves like a daws can cause your engine to run lean

Are you sure the boost gauge is fitted correctly as 0.7bar is actuator cracking pressure, not actual boost pressure which should be 0.875bar on a 95 WRX . If it's connected to the wrong side of the boost circuit you will be reading incorrectley.
