Generally speaking they are easy to fit, what model scoob do you have?
The only thing it will do different to the standard 1 is make a noise, if it is a vta of course

Fitting a VTA one is easy, however, deciding that you don't like it afterall and trying to refit the recirc one is fecking difficult to get the bottom hose reconnected!! I don't have any knuckles left and have still had to admit defeat!

Cool

Leave the standard one on there. Waste of money changing it. Spend the cash elsewhere.

standard is best for smoother running, however if you do want to change it then its a piece of p!ss to do.
Best first mod is a decent panel filter which should give you a slight increase in power

i have a 93wrx and i use a turbosmart adjustable vta valve. i find it smoother to drive than the standard one and it doesnt leak at steady 80mph cruising.

just fitted the standard valve back on mine after problems with a week spring on a DV12.

Green cotton panel filters are good.

Just fitted a Bailey DV26 Twin piston on mine (was told not to fit the single piston type as I'd have idling porblems) and it took about 15 mins, so yes it's a piece of p!ss.
As for filter I'd recommend a Green pannel filter.
(I have got a Blitz induction kit for sale - only done about 100 miles and even still got the box)
