Panel filter unless you want over 350bhp then go for an induction kit.

I dont think it's all about bhp.... I've fitted a K&N indution kit to my STi & although I might have lost a bit of horsepower due to the warmer engine air going in, I feel I've gained a quicker response to the throttle due to the less restrictive air flow. You've gotta chose wisely with an induction kit though & avoid the "oily" ones & you can always route some air pipes to provide cooler air....

I am looking to keeping the engine pretty much as it is, but it needs a service so I would rather put in a perfomance filter than a Subaru one. Will prb go for a panel Filter tbh.

Anyone know the exact dimensions of a 93 WRX? Saves me taking it out and measuring

You can buy ready made Impreza filters from K&N, Green etc, and STi produce one.

All classic airboxes are the same size.

Try the usual folks:

on mine have wing induction with cold feed which for me is better than a panel as its away from engine so doesn't get heat soak so for me makes more sense i use a dry cotton filter so no maf problems. but have noticed on powerstation write up sticky. the induction kit they use is always an in engine one and never a wing induction or have they tried a wing induction kit but yet dismiss all induction kits be interesting to see what they'd find from a wing induction with a proper air feed?
now i'm not saying airbox isn't anygood cos it's usually good for 350bhp suppose just comes down to personal taste etc
