Default Crank Drive Oil Seal

I've recently had a crank drive oil seal replaced.

The 1st garage I took it to did'nt do the job right so I took it to another.

About 6 weeks has passed and I reckon it's bloody gone again.

Can you get uprated seals for higher BHP cars?

Any thoughts?

Within 8 weeks I've had to seals and 2 cam belts (belts may have had oil contamination).

Cars a classic RA

Cheers

the seal shouldnt have gone twice in such a short period of time if done absolutley right youve either got excess crankcase pressure(check the breathers) or a problem with the pump.

or the shaft could have a slight defect in it causing it to wear the seal quicker.

groove on the snout of the crank or excessive end float
on the crank main bearing thrusts on higher mileage/well thrashed/abused engines.

Are you sure its the c/shaft seal ?
Done a job for a guy with a similar prob, turns out it was the washer seal on the pressure release valve and not the c/shaft seal.

Damn, your helpful

Turned out it was the oil seal again.

The first garage did'nt do the job right, but the second did.
They took it apart friday and they said it had pushed the seal out slightly.
All breathers were checked to see if they were blocked.

They say if it happens again I will need an oil pump.

So I'm getting an oil pump anyways.

Thanks for your help

Just had a look around online for oil pumps.

Every1 seems to go in the direction of a modified/uprated pump.

So I'm guessing if it's time to change mine then it's best to get say a ggr one?
