Should i fit an AVCR with my current mods?
Hi all,
Just thought i'd say hi to eveybody before i hound you with questions .
I've recently bought a 98 type R which i'm extremely happy with so far. It has a number of engine modifications which i can see/have been told about including...uprated fuel pump, front mount intercooler, stand alone ecu (which i had a look at yesterday and i couldnt decide if it was standard or not as it didnt have a brand on it), full RS-R exhaust, K & N filter, Blitz BOV and Turbo timer which i can think of now.
It is boosting at 1 bar in 1st and 1.3 bar in the rest of the gears...where will the boost settings be coming from the ECU? Are these boost levels safe on the standard internals...and also my friend is selling an AVCR would you advise fitting this or will it mean remapping the ECU?
As you can probably see i'm new to all this stuff but i'm trying my best...so explanations in leymans terms please
Dan
