i am just wondering what is the deal with imports running on lower octane fuel?

always fancied a wrx or sti but if the car has never had a remap should you stay away or is it still safe to buy?

just thinking of a 96/97 wrx/sti if these were never remapped are you just asking for trouble of should it all be fine? would you buy one that has not been done? just these cars are now 10yrs old and will have thier issues as it is just dont want to add another?
