Are you sure thats where it's coming in? Mine was rear lights but the water ended up in the footwell behind the drivers seat. Should try sitting inside your car and get someone to give it a good hosing down whilst you look for water coming in. That's what I had to do.

definatly in the front the rest of the carpets and underneath are bone dry apart from the front passenger footwell and it seems to be wet nearly to the end of the carpet under the dash

All the carpet in mine was dry apart from behind the driver seat. That why I would suggest what I said. Failing that heater matrix/pipe, door/window seal etc etc. The list could go on forever.

Personally I think you should go with what I said, therefore you can start ruling things out.

HI i have the exact same problem with my my95
every time it rains heavy the passenger footwell gets wet.
first take out the glove box, this will give you a better idea where water
is coming from, also peel back footwell carpet so you can see water running
down into footwell.i put down a load of bounty to soak up the ji-
i mean water.good look ive tried for 7 months to cure my leak.

same problem with a 93 WRX, it was the heater matrix so i just bypassed it until i can pull the dash out and replace it.

Had my windscreen replaced at the beginning of this year, and noticed that the front passenger footwell was damp the other week.

Not rained since, and not sure if the two are connected??

Ive been working on my car today and may have found the problem.
first i removed the wipers then i removed the plastic shield that sits at the bottom of the screen,it is very hard to remove the plastic plugs that keep the shield in place so i just pulled them out with pliers, have to buy some more.
under this shield on the passenger side there is a hole that a location pin goes in.This hole is above a large opening that must be for the heater?
so if any water goes in this hole it must run down into the heater and then into the footwell.
I bunged a load of sealer in it and replaced the shield.just have to wait for the rain, ill keep you informed.

its quite common for water to leak in there. You better be carefull of your central door lock timer as thats in that side of the car and its common for water to leak in there and screw them up!. Check the passenger side door seal!

rossie_classicwrx
where abouts is the door lock timer.
i will check the door seals but my car has that plastic trim that goes along the top of the doors so hope they are not leaking.
but saying that i had water coming in the fan motor housing and there seems to be water at the plastic piece on the side at the bottom of the dash board could be door seal aswell?
cheers
