Angry Really frigging annoying!!!

How the hell do I find a noise on my car that only appears at 110-120ish mph? (private test track)
Its so loud from inside the car that it sounds like i`ve got my hand on the horn!!!! Anyone ever had this?

No and as you can't do that sort of speed on the road so i wouldn't worry about finding it

rolling road wouldnt generate random wind directions though. Can only be done on the road, and only if the winds blowing in particular directions, its a very odd phenomenon...hasnt done it to me for a long time, but i can remember when it did, was freaky.

I'm pretty sure most rolling roads (in the bike world i know for definate they do) would have a fan blowing at the front of the car to help cool.

yeah of course they do, but its a constant direction.....on the open road winds will come at you from all directions, so it cannot be accurately recreated....

bit of chaos theory really

It's almost certainly the top windscreen moulding vibrating as the air passes over it - seen it loads of times.

If it bothers you, put a long strip of 2" masking tape along the moulding to prevent air going over it and try it again.

If it fixes it, just seal the top moulding.

I've had this on both classics at about 120 mph, I've put it down to the rear bumper fixings both becoming loose by the wheel arch, making the bumper resonate. Whatever it is, it means I had good exit speed onto the main straight
