Oil temp gauge?
I've bought an autometer digital readout oil temp gauge.
There are four wires to connect, Red to 12v circuit, Black to a ground, Yellow to headlights curciut (for dimming, only optional) and finally blue.
The blue wire is for the temp sensor, fair enough but how the hell does it connect to the sensor. heres a pic of what i've got.
Do i peice in a bit of wire to make it longer then crimp a ring connector on the end. and use the nut/washer to hold the ring connector on the end of the temp sensor.?

So then, I've changed the oil in the car today and fitted the sandwich plate, i mounted the temp sensor pictured above into the sandwich plate and connected it to the blue wire of the gauge as per instructions.
Thing is my gauge is reading 160 deg. what the F. How can this be?

The gauge reads in degrees centigrade, but thanks anyway.

sure did, checked and double checked that all wiring was correct. I can only assume its a faulty sensor.

Not a clue what size of thread i just told him what i wanted it for and he supplied. If you get one make sure you have teflon tape as the unsued ports WILL need sealed as screwing them in just isn't enough.
