Default Plugs

Just changing the plugs on my WRX my95.

they are NGKR`s, PFR6G and the centre electrode, on all 4, goes to a point, is that normal ?

It does look like its supposed to but maybe if its not it has burnt in a unique way on all 4 LOL

i have some NGKR`S, BKR6E11, will these be o.k to fit ?

cheers.....

I'd recommend NGK PFR6B's or PFR7B's if heavily modded

na,its more standard now, so no mods.

I Dont know if its a japanese thing, with the electrode being pointed rather than squared off like ours, or if they have been in for so long they have all burnt that way ?

cheers.....

If they're platinum tipped which they look to be, they all look like that. Think iridium do too but aint 100% as never used them. Heard horror stories of the iridium tip snapping off inside the bore!

Yup teh pointy bit is the platinum. There should be a corresponding little "lump" on the underside of the outer electrode too.

It has been known for them to come off, no big deal. Engine copes with larger chunks of carbon falling off ok. It usually occurrs when somebody tries re-gapping them (they should be pre-set to the correct gap anyway, should always check though )

oh and learn to use the "macro" on your camera (picure of a flower)
