Engine Noise any ideas ?
OOPS sorry, for some reason I got a double post !!!!
MY 05 STI PPP - 13k miles
I have a slight bearing noise at tickover. Sounds fairly central at the front of the engine, maybe slightly to the right. As soon as the revs pick up, it's gone. Sounds a bit like the early stages of a water pump on an old "A" Series Mini engine. Sounds more like the hollow whine you get from a plain bearing rather than a roller, but hey, what do I know these Subaru engines are still new to me. It is very quiet, but I am sure it isn't right, if fact it's so quiet at present I can only hear it with the bonnet open. Any ideas ?
