Default plz help wrx or sti

hi fellow scooby drivers had my 94 wrx about 3 month now i decided to check the chassis and engine numbers to see what model it is the chassis number means its a wrx yet the engine number says one of the first stis produced but dosent have any sti goodies like strut brace or red intercooler plz help cheers

maybe its a wrx with a sti engine replacement?????

yes but the codes on the wing alongside the chassis code cheers mate

As far as im aware all sti's r red top engines
Where did u get ur engine no from..what was it may i ask too

hi got the numbers off what looks like a vin plate on the wing the codes are ej20gdw2he for the engine and gc8b48d for the chassis cheers

the code for the engine also worked out as a version 1 sti dont know if these had redtops embroided seats etc seen a couple on ebay selling as stis and look no different to mine thanks for help

cheers mate but this is where i checked numbers and it says its one of the early stis but just wondering if they came with standard spec ie no pink brace or embroided seats

Not a possible accident repair job i hope mate...
Hey would ur ecu number suggest it was an sti? Im sure it would...
Look under ur pass floor to find ur ecu and read n post the model no on here

none of the numbers you have posted tally up, sorry.
The applied model code shows up as a 92 ->93 car and definately a wrx, the engine code does indeed show an sti engine (250ps version1).
the version 1 sti was built by oiking a wrx off the production line and modifying it, I believe though that version 1 stis had a ltd. number run (200?) and carry an appropriate plaque, iirc API have number 001/200 in their possesion.
you quite possibly have a v1 sti which is 250ps over the wrx 240ps but would need to dig deeper as they should have embroided bucket seats etc etc

sti V1 heads are crap imho, so not sure about the rev limit, RA V1 have 7.5k

yeah the wrx should have the limiter set at 7k. Mind you if it has a wrx ecu then that doesnt really help matters. ahh well.
