Walbro fuel pump after decat?
I had my car fully decatted a couple of months ago - a V4 STi Type R. I'm still saving for a Power FC and remap, but I have a Walbro 255 pump already.
Will fitting the pump now reduce the chances of running lean (due to the decat), or will the std ECU just supply the same amount of fuel regardless? Having searched it looks like fitting the pump without remapping can cuase overfuelling, but I'd rather have that, than running too lean.
So, bearing the decat in mind, should I fit the pump now, or wait until the remap?
Thanks.

You might find that the walboro will overpower the standard regulator causing it to run very lumpy until its mapped.I did the exact same thing on my V4 type R and it was horrible to drive but once it was remapped it drives great again

A pump would be fine with a fpr, to be honest it will probably be okay with the standard regulator. I have my walbro fitted with a standard regulator (only fitted it the day before I had a power fc fitted and mapped though so was minimum running)
