Exclamation Engine woes

Had my engine rebuilt using a P1 block with my sti 3 heads, also added a fmic, inlet manifold spacers, gruppe s v2 headers. The car had a remap on it sold spec using a power fc, when i got he car back it was fine now whilst driving it hesitates (not been on boost or over 3000rpm) and the idle hunts and occasionally cuts out.
Changed the dump valve, checked the maf and they are fine. any ideas???

The commander does not show any faults either and it seems to be very hit and miss, as it will be okay for about 30 seconds then start hesitating again. Going back to the garage tomorrow but want to get some ideas before hand.

if you have altered the spec after it was 'mapped' then you really need to get a re-map to suit the new spec, particuarly if you have gone from TMIC to FMIC.................

You just answered your own question banny it needs to run!! I have not long rebuilt my97 as a big end failed so have used a sti v2 (closed deck) bottem end on rebuild for a while car was ranging at low rev unable to regulate idle and overfueling on hard throttle (bit like a dodgy maf/lambda the usual!!!) but mine is on standard ecu witch is self learning remember after driving it for a while driving abit better checked error codes did a reset ect and back to square one car ranging ect now i have been driving it regular and its driving realy well!!!! Im not saying suck eggs but after you have run the car in a bit (i would do this on standard ecu) you should have no probs smoothing things out on the rollers!!! good look

Check your water temps on the commander (not the gauge in the dash), a failing sensor will read cold, the ECU will be fooled and run really rich to compensate

Standard ecu back on, water temp reading is fine on the apexi commander. spoke to JGM and will get a running in map in place at some point. Car still drives like its got a mind of its own!!

you need to have a 'map' suitable for the car in its current spec...........i.e. a "running-in" map..............

this will no doubt solve the issue which is no doubt caused by the FMIC and the other changes away from std..............
