Default How to get 380/380 out of MY99 UK

Back end of this year, funds permitting, it will be time to do a bit more on the engine.

Current spec is

Standard UK engine
Tek 3 (mapped by Paul at Zen performance, www.zenperformance.co.uk)
VF34
STI 8 TMIC
SX reg
Walbro fuel pump
Decat
Gruppe S headers
I have hacked a great big hole in the side of my airbox

Can I get there with a TD05/20g and some 550s? Do I need a FMIC? Do I need full 3" exhaust? Or induction changes? Is it even safe to consider this power level on a standard UK engine? I am aware of, and accept, a certain level of risk, but I don't want a high likelihood of it going bang anytime soon. My short engine is 10k miles old.

I know Paul has views on this, but I'm keen to hear as many opinions as possible. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

ps I have arbitrarily plucked the 380/380 figures out of the air for no good reason other than they sound good to me!
pps car is already sorted for safety, brakes and suspension, and is mainly used on track, or to drive to and from the track! The gearbox will be sorted.

Ok turning it around, what is the max I can reasonably aim for without changing the engine?

400 / 350 ish on standard pistons

To get more torque you'll need to run more boost and for that you will need some forged pistons in there.

Reading the rest of it, I'd go with the 20g and a FMIC a 3" exhaust inc headers, 550's (maybe 740's) and a samco inlet pipe

That should do it.

380 ft.lbs is a tall order.
3" open neck downpipe and performance 3" exhaust like Revolution.
Cone filter with cold air divider.
550 or 740 injectors subject to what is available at what price.
Hybrid FMIC
TD05 06 20G fully ported
A bit of work to keep the hot bits hot and the cold bits cold
Re-map.
That should get you to around 380 bhp and 340 ft.lbs.
Look here for a 95 WRX Wagon project which makes 380-410 bhp. 340-365 ft.lbs subject to fuel and map.
