Clonking sound - Any ideas?
I'm a bit concerned that something is not right with my Type R. I get a clonking sound when the car is driven from cold. It seems to go away once the car is warmed up. I'd like to solve it but I don't know where to start.
It's not a repetative sound, or a constant sound. It just makes a sudden clunk sound here and there. It makes this sound in any gear, clutch in, or up and at any engine speed. The noise is always the same loudness. The sound can happen when the car is going straight, or round a corner and I can "feel" it through the accelerator pedal.
I'm wondering if the anti-roll car bushes need greasing (they're polyurthane bushes with whiteline bars), but I can't think of anything else. Does anyone have any ideas??
Thanks
David
