Default Newly purchased WRX - quick question

I have just bought a 95 WRX and am wondering if it is running as it should. Overall the car feels spot on. It boosts at around 3000 but I have noticed that as the revs rise it does feel a little bit strangled. Also it appears from the boost gauge that it is only running about 0.5 bar. The car is standard.

Is this what people would expect?

How long have you had the car. Did you change the air filter yet?. Sorry to patronise but you should start with the basics.

Thanks for the replies guys. I haven't done any servicing as yet. I am going to sort that out this weekend if it is needed. Have got a Blitz Nur Spec R to fit tonight and then induction and dump valve to follow.

Having checked the boost gauge again it isn't in bar its in kg/cm3

1 kgf/cm 2 is 0.98 bar so for all intents and purposes its the same.

Thanks for that. The other thing is when I bought the car it had a full tank of juice but I don't know what RON it was. I have filled up with Optimax this morning so will reset the ecu tonight and see if that makes any difference.
