Default Help urgently needed

Hi noticed tonight pulled car off drive and there is lots of oil pouring from behind where the sump is, I think it is oil it is thinker than brake fluid.
Whatever it is it is burning on the turbo or exhaust, cant really see untill tomorrow when its light, but has anyone got any ideas what I should look for?
Turbo feed return etc.
Many Thanks for any help given.

Think the crank seal would be below the exhaust?
If its the rear crank seal its not easy since you have to split the clutch and gear box from the engine then remove the flywheel to get to it. if the rear crank seal has gone i would expect it to leak into the clutch! i Think?
The exhaust runs to the left of the rear of the engine and the turbo is in line with it. Oil feed to turbo maybe? i think the brake servo and master cylinder are over there too but you dont think its brake fluid!

Its still flowing when switched off. This can only happen if its below the level of the sump..if its oil. It cannot go uphill and flow unless there is oil pump pressure. How far back is the oil comming out. It may be gearbox oil?

it is as far back as where the turbo is thats why i thought perhaps the oil feed or return pipes i don't know if its just oil that is left there that is flowing out when switched off came out of when you drive it like a drip drip every few inches.

if its a manual thats the gearbox oil dipstick i guess. Im not sure but i think there is one for the front diff too.
whats the oil look and feel like gear oil is generaly thicker than engine oil.
ill be honest im shooting in the dark now.. Look when its light leaks are easy they come from the place that they come from! just work up the car till its dry the highest place that is wet is the one thats leaking!

if its just a case of changing supply pipe i do not want it going in to garage to cost me when im quite capable of changing it myself.
Thats why i was asking for your advice about the possibilities as someone could have experienced this before, anyway sorry for going on its just bugging me.

i'd check the air intake pipe to see if theres oil in there. A similar problem occured on mine when it was throwing loads of oil through the rocker breathers and leaking out around the air intake. Hopefully this isn't the case but worth a check. The dipstick near the turbo is definatly the gearbox dipstick

don't drive it until you get it fixed mate or your gonna cause some serious damage.. have a good look all around the box to make sure no obvious bolts or anything are missing as well.. hopefully might be as simple as that.. Good luck anyway

fill the gear box if its running out as bad as you say you should see it. As above dont drive the car till you find the leak!
It sounds major!

Just a thought is the speed'o' working? the speedo connection is pretty close to the turbo and goes into the gearbox!

Just been out there checked the engine oil and there is plenty in ( take it has to be in between the 2 holes) and if it was turbo hose, crank seal etc for how much has leaked out would be low so must be box as all other fluid is ok.
Which is not as much a concern to me as it would be if it was engine i need a new box as it is on its way out.
