Default Benefits of ported headers

I have a decat up and down pipe to fit to my MY01 WRX (already have ecutek, straight through centre, H&S bb, HKS panel filter, Walbro, etc fitted) and plan to have the map reviewed, however:

Would it be worth me having the oe headers ported at the same time as fitment of the up/down pipes and if so, likely cost, benefit, other considerations, etc?

Thanks.

Yes as you have everything in bits ,should not cost too much , air driven grinder ,couple of stones and port out to match gaskets you will see the large lips when you hold gasket up to headers, turbo will spool up a bit quicker , every little bit helps the car to perform better . Worthwhile cheap mod .

Rich I have a set of O/e headers for sale if you need a set as a diy job or to send off for porting by an other.

Hi Kev,

Is this the sort of thing someone (eg. Powerstation) could do while they have the "bits" apart ready to fit the up pipe, etc?

I'm not sure what's involved in the task.
