VTA blow off valves............
On a perfectly set up car, how much fuel does a vta waste? compared to having an uprated re-circ??
From an engine performance perspective, what would be the better one to have? The bov I have is an HKS SSQV thingymajiggy. I'm looking to swap it for an uprated re-circ, but want to know if there's any point?
Cheers
Steve

Fantom, the VTA will not use any more fuel than a recirc. The reason is that air is vented upstream of where the fuel is injected. The mixture immediately after venting will be over rich, not because of too much fuel but because of too little air.
VTA's upset the correct fuelling of the engine for a limited period after it has vented. This cannot help performance. So if anything, moving from a VTA to recirc dump valve will improve fuelling during gear changes.
