Default How low on petrol?

Couple of quicky questions.

I have a 1994 WRX

1. Is it ok to let your car run really low on fuel as in nearlly empty.

2. When the needle is on the white empty (E) line, if you drive very carefully
is the petrol likely to last much longer?

cheers

Typically the reserve is about 10 litres (on a MY99/00 anyway).

Good for 50+ miles depending on you MPG.

Be warned that running low on fuel and cornering can result fuel starvation and lead to damage.

Does my WXR MY95 have a low petrol warning light?

Have run it down past the line but not onto the E and have never seen anything light up.

you serious.?? Obviously it will last longer yes, but probably not as much as you think much.!

10 litres left in reserve
1. at 10 mpg you will get 2.2 miles per litre = 22 miles
2. at 20 mpg you will get 4.4 mpl = 44 miles
3. at 30 mpg you get 6.6 mpl = 66 miles

Drive harder, walk further to the garage when you run out.
