Default pulleys help

hi all im looking to buy some light waight pulleys for my rebuild i like the rcm ones as there not underdriven but i dont much like the price so if anyone know of another company in the uk that dose none underdriven pulleys can i have details please thanks in advance

LOL that's the problem - everyone would be running them if the price was more realistic. A couple of other firms do them, but none are cheap.

im not thinking alot cheaper i know that silly lol i can find them cheap on ebay but there underdriven and that is the bit i dont want lol

hi all right called api today and yes they do them but at the same price as rcm


so this is where im at

i understand why you would fit lighter pullys but can any one explain the difference between underdriven and none underdriven thanks

Underdriven are stupid and normal aren't LOL

Seriously though, underdriven pullies reduce the loads on the engine by running the various pumps and wheels slower than normal, the alternator being a prime example of this. OK on a competition car, not so great on a road car in the middle of winter when your alternator's on the way out anyway and you've got your wipers, heater, lights and demister on.

If you're that worried about reducing loads on the engine, why not just remove the alternator altogether? Joking. Although some people do for drag racing.

Just get a standard size pulley set, but lightened.

I'm after a set of lightweight pulleys, seen a set on Milsports site standard size but a fair bit lighter.

well unfortantly i had to bite the bullit and i got a set of rcms but guess what 2 days later theres some on ebay not underdrive for a not bad price ow well got mine now
