Christian's boost was dropping off badly.
With the size of the turbo on the thing, I think it just couldn't get enough air in while stationary.
If it had, I'm sure it would have created a partial vacuum inside Well Lane!
The car seemed to just start getting going, then it just fell flat.
The figures for this car clearly don't illustrate its true potential.
Re boost figures, didn't have time to post them this morning. Only just enough time to do the results! Most people didn't have boost gauges, so many weren't recorded.
Cheers

Glad you (and others) enjoyed it Stu.
They don't normally plumb in the boost gauge for every car on power runs as to do 25 cars like this runs the day on a bit too long.
The reason it was done last Feb was that the article was covered by Banzai, who specifically requested boost figures.
The rule now is that they'll take readings if you have a boost gauge in the car, but if you don't, they probably figure that it's a pointless exercise as you've no means of knowing your boost at any other time.
Dunno really.
Cheers

Thanks again Rich for fitting me in at short notice
Where are the graphs going to be hosted/posted ?
Next time you speak to the guys at Well Lane can you ask them how they calculate the RPM of the car for the graphs ?
cheers
Andy

Andy i am no expert but i noticed that every car that ran the operator asked for the rpm at 60 mph for every car so maybe this answers your question

Mark,
You took the words out of my mouth. I wondered myself actually, but I also saw them do that on Sunday.
Peccy,
Your results are interesting. For ages everyone has said Well Lane was optimistic and PE was bob on. Your figures seem to contradict that or at least prove that Well lane doesn't overstate as many people think (most of whom have never actually been there!)
Cheers Rich

Ok dave so are you saying to keep the superchip for now get a fmic and so on, i was getting shut of the superchip as mention this and everyone walks away. Not sure which route to take had an escort cosworth before which seemed far more straight forward and less confusing to modify than the subaru
Thanks
Mark

If the superchip works then leave it for the moment...
fit the turbo, fmic, etc at the same time as the remap.. if that makes sense?
Mail me off board if you want some more info.

I think David is trying to say....
You could get a remap now but if you go on to fit a FMIC, bigger turbo etc you'll need another remap to make the most of the coversion.
Probably

For reference, mine was at standard 1 bar with a wierd power drop-off after 6100 RPM
I didn't see what the boost was doing at this point of the run, so my only option now is to drive flat out down the motorway to see if there's a corresponding boost drop-off
Edited to say thanks to Rich for a fun (and interesting) day
PS At the February 2002 Well Lane day, I remember they made a point of plumbing their own boost guage into each and every car that went on the rollers. Any idea why not this time ?

Cheers to Rich for organising well lane 4 - both days were good - shame about my car though!! It was a very long time in england, 10days in the end, instead of 4 1/2!!
I seemed to have quite a lot of bad luck!! We are both tired now - and just got home. So will post thanks/details etc later on/tomorrow.
my wl result was 376bhp / 300 toeque @ 1.2 bar (peaked at 1.66)
my pe result was 407bhp / 384 torque @ 1.4 bar (peaked at 1.66)
Neither of them show what is happening on the road though, running at 1.8bar, holding at 1.6.
The car just keeps on pulling and pulling - v.scary - and is very hard to hold yourself forward against the sheer power of it pulling you back!!
