Default tmic query

Ok, i imagine a v1/2 sti tmic will fit straight onto a wrx my93. Will a v3 sti tmic fit without to much hassle? i have noticed the v1/2 tmic only has one inlet, where as the later ones splits into a dual entry, what are the advantages of this?
With the v3 intercooler being a square fit as opposed to the slant fit of the early ones, will it require any modifications to be carried out in the engine bay?
Basically what gains would be made fitting later classic sti tmic over fitting a v1/2 sti tmic?

cheers

jason

p.s. how do the different version numbers relate to the year/version?

You need to modify the bulkhead to fit a later one. Also need to either block off the DumpValve hole or on the STI 3/4 squash the pipe a bit.

I have an STi 5 on my STi 2.
