Default Quick question about headers!

Ive just bought a set of equal length headers that where on a MY00 turbo 2000, I just wanted to know if they would fit my 2004 WRX. The seller assured me that they will fit my car, but just wanted to know if the headers from the classic will fit my newage.

Classic headers will fit the New Age but the New Age has a sensor located in the header on the drivers side at the collector. There is no such facility on the Classic headers.

Early Legacy headers like on my RS one (1989) have the lambda located in the headers, not sure what year it changed from that though.

Early JDM wrx 93-96 has lambda sensor in collector, most tubular headers have a bung for that sensor as it's now reappeared on the new age cars.

Any idea why they've put it back there instead of the downpipe?

Reason I ask is that instructions for the wideband I bought recently make it quite clear it should be fitted after the turbo, partly because of the heat pre-turbo, but partly something to do with the gasflow in the headers I think.

Are the widebands more susceptible to damage in this respect?
Luckily although my Legacy has the oe one in the header, the H&S downpipe I have has a bung in it so hopefully my LC1 should be able to go straight in that (assuming the thread & size matches....)
