AndyF mapping on March 21st:911 calling
I have set a date for AndyF to come to my house to remap my hill climber Impreza.
I am looking to draw in 2 other cars for the day and for us to share equally the travel costs.
I have offered to Andy to use my quiet cul de sac house drive as a base for 3 cars on the 22nd, but I will have to go to work!
If we can manage this it will reduce the costs of travel again.
My house is on the outskirts of Wolverhampton, about 30 mins from J10/11 on the M6.
To book-in you need to contact Andy, not me, as some of you have different needs for the sessions.
Graham.

ANDYF's VISIT
Hi m8
Ive had most of the bits done to my car, just got install the walbro, sx regulator, equal fuel lines, possibly fuel rails, oil catch tank. A busy few weekends ahead, first time installation for me, guess I'll be on the net asking for help.
Just had headers and uppipe from Harvey Smith and Sports cat from H&S and I now have clutch slip when pushing it
So now I need a new clutch, I just need to fine out which one, I have a single plate Cusco, Cusco fly wheel - Cusco said to replace pressure plate and disk, which is very expensive or I may go to an Exedy or AP organic.
How does Andy require payment!
I may need counting in, if I get everything else completed on time, I'm near Redditch.

JUST CHECKING ITS STILL ON
Hi
just keeping this at the top
Is it still on, haven't managed to get the equal fuel pipes done yet.
Chasing the clutch up this week! and the catch tank, I think I have managed to get a slight air/fuel leak from the fuel tank area, it may even be the original fuel spill when changing to walbro. Ive done the rubber tank seal twice now and used gasket sealant the last time, still a smell of fuel from within the boot.
I dont get any pressure release now from the fuel cap, I did b4.
Cheers

NEXT WEEKS ALMOST HERE
Hi Graham
emailed Andy hes doing the car 22 Mar in the afternoon.
Clutch gets done monday at API and Im just waiting for the catch tank to arrive.
So this weekensd should be - fitting catch tank and pipes, washing IC (petrol) and using the fuel up, so that it just has optimax in without octane boost.
Cheers

Ian, you will do better getting a good dose of Booster in and through the engine before you get to 'me', will allow Andy to dial in a few more degrees for you!
Glad you are excited!
Good game!

CATCH TANK ARRIVED THIS MORNING
Hi Graham
catch tanks now here, I'm just about to go to the aquatic centre for hose.
I hope I can manage to get it in, the tank only has 2 connectors, I will probably have to bodge it until I can get hold of a small filter (like K&N) and drill a hole.
Call me thick if you like, , but why would it be better to have Oct Boost in with optimax to allow andy to add more advance. I would like to get rid of adding Oct Boost.
I have looked at all the entries on the installation of oil catch cans. Have I understood it right,
1. Rocker case vents - somewhere on the existing metal pipe connect NEW pipe (to catch tank) and blocl/plug the old pipe that comes off. 1/2" pipe
2. Crank case vent - (Difficult to locate) when I find the right pipe connect it to NEW hose (to catch tank) and block/plug the old pipe. 3/4" pipe
3. Then connect by a T 1 & 2 putting a single pipe onto catch tank - using the other with a piece of hose, cloth or sponge, tie wrapped at the end. Until I can get a filter.
Confused, yes I am

NEVER THAT EASY
Hi graham
1. Took off the Intercooler so that I could get access to the top entry of the Crank vent and to block off the old connector to the air intake pipe.
2. Moved the alternator to the side and blocked of the entry on the air intake pipe.
3. I then used a T to connect both pipe together near to the power steering tank.
4 Then I put it all back together, however this is when it started to go wrong. I put the alternator back in its place, finger tight the bolts and adjusted. Noisey belt so I adjusted some more, now not eneough adjustment left on the adjuster and whilst the car started the belt was still making noise and slipping around the alternator. I reckon the bearing in the alternators on its way out and I now need to get to Halfords to see if they have a new belt.
5. So Im really pi**ed off as all that was left to do was connect 1 pipe to the catch tank and another to let the cr*p out.
Anyway, lets hope Halfords have a belt - then again that may be too much.
Cheers m8

Try running it again with the rear/long alt'n bolt slackened off. If the small slip bush in the rear mount siezes then you can lock the alternator shaft as you bend the frame when you tighten it up.
