Thumbs up Thanks To Harvey r.e. FMIC and ported headers

Just thought I'd put up a post thanking Harvey Smith for the work he has done on my car over the last week.

He was looking for a new shape car to fit his FMIC on and so I volunteered my car and while he was at it I asked him to port my headers.

My car is an JDM MY03 WRX Sti.

I now have the car back and the work looks to be of a very high standard, professional looking and at a reasonable price

I had fitted;

FMIC
CAIK
BOV
Ported OEM Headers (for twin scroll)
full 3" exhaust fitted.
EGT probe fitted.

Just need to get a re-map now to benefit all the mods

I must also thank Paul Stabler Tuning for assisting in the fitting of these mods.

I will see if I can get some pics up tommorrow of the engine bay.

Damian.

Hi Damian

So I take it that was your car up there on Friday.

I had a look at your headers with Paul before they were fitted, and harvey had done an excellent job, as always

The intercooler also looked like a nice piece of kit. Well made, good cross sectional area, but also quite deep with a relatively open fin pattern to allow good airflow across. I had a peek inside it too and again it looked the business, with a relatively open core but lots of fins to maximise cooling efficiency.

The wing mounted induction setup that comes as part of the kit looked spot-on too

I take it you'll be driving off boost until you get it re-mapped, because I'm sure that CAI kit will offset your MAF a fair amount.

Yep running it pretty much of boost most of the time. Overtook someone on the way home and reached 0.9 bar It's not a problem for me not to run any boost until re-map as most of the time I am in traffic commuting to work.

I think the fact it is a twin scroll and Harvey had ported the headers and up-pipe the off boost driving is a doddle, just like a N/A car.

Adam,

I think he can on the classics but not the twin scrolls as there are so few about.

It does indeed

My car was the first to be done so the price won't be the same for others.

If you e-mail Harvey Smith he will advise of costs.
