FLUID LEAK IS IT SERIOUS?

Question FLUID LEAK IS IT SERIOUS?

VERY NEW TO SCOOBS WAS HOPPING TO BY MY FIRST IMPREZA WRX 93 TODAY BUT ON INSPECTING UNDER THE CAR I COULD SEE WHAT I THOUHT WAS STERRING FLUID DRIPPING AT THE REAR OF THE ENGINE STERRING RESPONCE SEEMS FINE. COULD IT BE THE STERRING RACK OR JUST A LEEK FROM THE FLUID RESIVOUR.. I WOULD STILL BYE THE CAR IF ITS NOT A MAJOR JOB..

YOUR HELP WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECHATED AS THE CAR WAS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION

was it coming from at back of the intercooler mate and dripping down

MAY WELL HAVE BEEN FLUID WAS RED IN COLOR AND APPEARED OILY SOME SEEMED TO BE DRIPPING ON TO THE EXHAUST AND SOME JUST TO THE LEFT OF THE EXHAUST.

check what coulor your coolant is as the coolant pipes run under the intercooler from the engine to the car bulkhead mine split on me and ran onto exhaust smell was bad by the way mine is a 93 wrx same so have a look mate just a thought

IM SURE THE COOLANT WAS GREEN IN COLOUR THE ONLY RED FLUID I COULD FIND WAS THE STERRING FLUID.

its a common problem where the car looses power steering fluid. Mine does it. I have to top up with fluid every few months (waiting until its a bit warmer before finding out exactly where its coming from - just lazy)
The leaks though do seem to appear in different places.

CHEERS FOR THAT MATE JUST NEEDED TO KNOW IF IT WAS GOING TO BE A MAJOR PROBLEM WOULD YOU BYE THE CAR WITH THIS LEAK OR LOOK FOR ANOTHER..

I would be more concerned that it may be transmission fluid. At least pull the dipstick out (the one near the bulkhead near the turbo) and see if there is red fluid in there. It could also be from elsewhere however. Pay an expert to inspect it, it could be a major expense.
