Default car wont start-crank sensor?

Need some help, cant get my car to start, initially it started to cut out as if it was running out of fuel and then for a small while attempted to fire as if it was 'on fumes', then did nothing. Thought it might be fuel pump but you can here that fire up when you turn the ignition on.
Someone tells me it could be the crank sensor, could this be right?

Thanks, Simon,

I've just had exactly the same problem, and after looking at several posts on here it does sound like the crank sensor.

If you have a booster charger, try starting it with that, the increased speed of spinning it over seems to just about get a signal from the sensor and start.

I may be completly wrong though!

Mark.

Have tried repeatedley over a couple of weeks and it would'nt have any. Fitting cage at mo so all the dash is out, will have to fit it all back before I try a new sensor.
