speedo making a 'clicking' sound
Hi,
I have a 1997 STi V3 Type-R Impreza and my speedo is making a constant clicking sound, although it does seem to vanish when over around 60mph, although it does increase with speed until that point. Has anyone got any ideas as to what it could be?
thanks,
Matt

My STI v3 has the same clicking problem (although not usually in the first couple of miles). If it is a dry cable, what's the easiest way to resolve this (bearing in mind that there's a speedo converter somewhere in there too.
Any help appreciated!

You can buy a top part of the cable for about £20 from a breakers like grade 'A'.
Mine was doing it and it turned out it was just the mechanical speedo convertor loose. The noise tavels up the cable and causes the speedo to click like mad. Secured it down with a metal tie wrap and hey presto, no more clicking.
